President’s Message
Greetings to All BPW Members;
I hope you all had a great holiday season. It comes and goes so fast it's hard to believe it is over already. At least the weather was good for all of you that had to travel.
It's time for our second half of our programming year. What an exciting and successful first half of the year we had. I know this upcoming six months are going to be just as exciting and successful. We do need all of your help to make all of these programs work. We also would appreciate your attendance at the Business Meetings as we have some great programs coming up.
Our January program features "Network to Connect III", presented by Elena Alvarez and Stephanie Schechter. Network to Connect is a program consisting of Local Women's Organizations and Not-for-Profits coming together to exchange ideas and learn more about services available in the county. The objective of this program is to see if we can get together on some of our initiatives to combine talent and time for some of the same purposes. Thank you to both of these talented women for leading this program. Please support them by attending the meeting. All of the information regarding this program can be viewed on our website at www.schenectadybpw.org
February's meeting will be presented by our own Lisa Jordan, Life Coach. She will be presenting Heart Healthy Month -- Stress Management and Personality Definition. Please give your support to Lisa by attending this meeting. Our thanks to Lisa, in advance for creating this program.
The next big event is being chaired by Kim Bellizzi and Miriam Cajuste. The program is called "Life Unplugged" and is de-signed to encourage young adults to make critical decisions that will affect the course of their whole lives. The event will take place at the Schenectady County Community College on March 24, 2012 and in the course of the day students will visit 15 booths covering everything from family, housing, transportation, taxes and reality check situations. Please join Kim and Miri-am for their committee meeting on January 11, 2012 at Jane’s house at 923 Wright Avenue Schenectady NY 12309, at 6:00 PM, and pizza and dessert will be served. This is definitely a club effort so please give your support to Kim and Miriam. Also check out our website www.schenectadybpw.org for a demo of the program.
So this is just the beginning of the plans we have for the rest of the year. May 11, 2012 is our 85th Anniversary Gala at the Riverstone Manor. Bonnie Keller and I are chairing the event and will be sending out information for a committee meeting within the next few weeks. Again we need the clubs’ support for this very exciting event.
I am proud to represent such a wonderful group hard working women who help us in all of our endeavors.
I look forward to seeing all of you on January 24, 2012 for Network to Connect.
Regards,
Jane Osterhout
