                                                            April 2013

From the Desk of President Bonnie Keller…

As our club year quickly comes to an end, it's also the beginning stages of two noteworthy events. The Fashion Show, which is scheduled for Sunday, November 3rd, is once again being co-chaired by Cynthia Powell and Jane Osterhout.   Last year we were able to raise an all-time high of $10,000 thanks to the combined efforts of Cyndie and Jane, committee chairs, our members, community partners and attendees. Rumor has it that our chairs have set a goal of $12,500 for this year's event. How do we do it? It takes leadership, commitment, time, volunteers, corporate and community partners and did I mention volunteers? Yes, we need YOUR help, whether it be soliciting ads for the program book, items for the silent auction, soliciting wine for the mystery wine auction, selling raffle or 50/50 tickets, setting up, modeling, serving as a cashier, registration, greeters, sending thank you's to all donors, etc. Best of all, our efforts will be noticed at this year's Scholarship Award Banquet, which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25th at The Stockade Inn. If you have an idea, would like to attend a meeting, or volunteer your time, simply email Cyndie at cyndie@nycap.rr.com as there are plenty of tasks to be completed both before and during the event.

The second noteworthy event that we are planning for early 2014 is the Life Unplugged Youth Leadership Program that will be co-chaired by Kim Bellizzi and Miriam Cajuste.   They will be reviewing the program in detail at our April meeting and will be looking for volunteers to assist with this important initiative.

Best Regards,

Bonnie
